“From a small seed to a tall tree”
Quality Home from Home care
From humble beginnings as a childminding business, we’ve grown into a thriving day nursery a natural evolution driven by our passion for providing exceptional early years care. Though our setting has expanded, our values remain rooted in the same heartfelt commitment: to welcome every child as a cherished part of our extended family. We see each child as full of potential, and we’re here to help them grow from a small seed to a tall tree nurturing their confidence, curiosity, and love for learning every step of the way.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework as the foundation for each child’s development, using it not just as a guide, but as a springboard for creativity, exploration, and discovery. Our approach blends structure with imagination, offering children a rich variety of experiences that encourage them to understand the world around them in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.
Whether it’s through hands-on nature activities, sensory exploration, child-led play, storytelling, or cultural celebrations, we ensure learning is always engaging, inclusive, and tailored to the unique interests of every child. We’re proud to offer an environment where children are not only prepared for school, but also for life rooted in kindness, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging.
We use the Famly app as a key part of our day-to-day communication with families, helping to create a transparent, supportive, and engaging nursery experience. Through the app, parents receive real-time updates on their child’s day, including photos, daily routines and developmental milestones. It also allows for direct messaging with staff, digital attendance records, and easy access to important documents such as invoices and event notifications all in one secure and user-friendly platform.
By using Famly, we strengthen our partnership with parents, promote open communication, and ensure that every child’s unique learning journey is shared, celebrated, and supported both at nursery and at home.

At our nursery, we proudly embrace the Curiosity Approach a modern, child-centered educational philosophy that encourages awe, wonder, and the joy of discovery. Rooted in the belief that children are naturally curious and capable learners, we create a calm, inspiring environment filled with authentic resources, open-ended materials, and real-world objects that spark imagination and meaningful play.
Rather than relying on plastic toys or overly structured routines, our spaces are thoughtfully designed to feel homely and welcoming, with a focus on natural textures, neutral tones, and a sense of calm. This encourages children to explore, problem-solve, and engage deeply with the world around them at their own pace.
Our nursery features a dedicated sensory room designed to provide a calming, engaging, and enriching environment for young children. This specially curated space supports the development of sensory processing skills through a variety of textures, lights, sounds, and interactive elements. Whether a child needs a quiet retreat to self-regulate or an inspiring area to explore and learn, the sensory room offers a safe and welcoming setting tailored to individual needs.
Equipped with soft lighting, tactile walls, soothing music, bubble tubes, fibre optic lights, and a range of sensory toys, the room encourages curiosity, focus, and emotional well-being. It is especially beneficial for children with additional needs, helping them feel secure while developing motor skills, language, and sensory awareness. Our trained staff guide children through sensory play activities that promote relaxation, stimulate imagination, and support early learning in a nurturing, inclusive space.

We have established a special partnership with a local nursing home, where our children regularly visit the residents as part of a structured intergenerational program. These visits are thoughtfully designed to help the children develop key social and emotional skills, such as empathy, active listening, and self-confidence, through meaningful interactions with older adults. In turn, the residents deeply appreciate the companionship, energy, and joy that the children bring especially during times when visits from their own family members may be infrequent due to distance, health, or scheduling challenges. The mutual benefits of these visits are truly heart-warming, creating bonds that uplift both the children and the residents in lasting ways.
In partnership with Jess Trigg, founder of Positivity Club, we are proud to offer weekly preschool sessions designed to support children’s mental wellbeing and early understanding of mental health.
Through carefully planned, fun and interactive activities, children are gently introduced to important values such as self-love, kindness, gratitude, inclusivity and mindfulness. Each session provides a safe and nurturing space where children can explore their feelings, build confidence and develop healthy coping strategies.
Our Positivity Club sessions help children learn simple, age-appropriate tools to manage big emotions, strengthen resilience and express themselves positively — laying strong foundations for happy, confident learners.

Here at The Mulberry Tree, we work in partnership with Boogie Woogie Music to provide regular sessions that support children’s physical, social and expressive arts development.
Through fun, energetic and engaging dance and music activities, children build coordination, balance and confidence while developing their listening skills, creativity and self-expression. These exciting sessions encourage teamwork, imagination and a love of movement — all while having lots of fun!

At The Mulberry Tree, we provide regular outdoor learning experiences that allow children to explore, discover and connect with the natural world. Time spent outdoors encourages curiosity, independence and a love of nature.
Through hands-on activities such as den building, nature crafts, seasonal investigations and problem-solving challenges, children develop confidence, resilience and teamwork skills. Our outdoor sessions also support physical development, risk awareness and creativity, while nurturing wellbeing and a sense of adventure in the great outdoors.
Here at The Mulberry Tree we provide inclusive and child- centred SEND care by creating a nurturing, supportive and stimulating environment where every child can thrive . We work closely with families, key professionals, and the wider nursery team to identify and meet individual needs, ensuring appropriate strategies and interventions are in place. We promote independence, confidence and positive relationships while ensuring all children have equal opportunities to participate, learn and achieve their full potential.
We understand how important it is to feed your little ones well
At The Mulberry Tree, mealtimes are always a delightful experience a chance to come together, explore new flavours, and enjoy nourishing food in the company of friends. Our diverse and well-balanced menu is designed to introduce children to a wide range of tastes, textures, and ingredients, helping to develop their palates and encourage a lifelong love of food.
We know that children can go through stages of being fussy eaters, and we’re fully equipped to accommodate these preferences while gently encouraging them to broaden their tastes. Mealtimes aren’t just about eating they’re also about learning and growing together. By dining alongside their peers, children are inspired by one another, often trying new foods and discovering new favourites in a supportive and relaxed environment. We believe that eating together fosters a sense of community, curiosity, and fun, making it a positive, engaging experience that enhances both social skills and nutritional awareness.
